West Village Studios is a conversion of an existing hotel built in 1969 to a California Homekey project that includes 78 studio units with kitchenettes. 15% of the studios were upgraded to current California Building Code (CBC) 2019 Chapter 11b mobility units and 10% were upgraded to CBC 2019 units with communication features as required by the Homekey program. Common community areas the property features are a lounge room, community garden, fitness center, and kitchen for residents to enjoy. In addition to these amenities, on-site case management services are also available to residents, provided by the Redwood Community Action Agency. This project has been made possible through a collaboration with the City of Arcata, the California Department of Housing and Community Development, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
